About

Erik R. Hagen studied art and art history at Carleton College in the United States, where he split his time between the art studio and the classroom.  After graduation, Hagen won one of Carleton's fifth-year art internships; for one year,  he helped to teach art at the college and had his own studio space. He has exhibited at Carleton College, and in galleries and artists’ cooperatives in Seattle, Antwerp, Washington DC, Houston, and The Hague. His work includes sculpture, drawing, painting, and photography.

Hagen continued to create art while pursuing a career in water-resources engineering for 15 years. He moved to Holland and worked as full-time artist from 2008 to 2012. He worked as a policy analyst for a non-profit in Washington DC from 2012 to 2014. A United States citizen, Hagen currently lives and works in Houston and practices art full-time.
